The Highlights of the Old Town of Rhodes
Picking the most intriguing from the plethora of attractions the Old Town of Rhodes has to offer is quite the challenge! But, if we had to, we would leave the obvious ones aside, and focus on the little treasures, the hidden gems, the unexpected marvels that pop up around every corner as you wander the cobblestone alleys where knights once roamed. Do visit the Grand Magister’s Palace, the Archaeological Museum, the churches, the exhibits and galleries, but keep an eye out for the odd carving on the wall, the marble crests over imposing gates, hidden courtyards and vibrant blossoms peeking through cracks in the worn-out stone. Paneri Restaurant, Creative Mediterranean Cuisine is located in Pythagora street, near the central square of the Old Town, Ippodamous square - or, as it most commonly known, the square with the Seahorse Fountain. Pythagora street is a picturesque alley just around the corner, and the delightful Paneri Restaurant, Creative Mediterranean Cuisine awaits just a few steps ahead!

The food here was still Greek but with some very interesting and more importantly delicious twists. The feta panna cotta is a perfect example. We will be trying to recreate this one back home. I was a little leery of the sauteed shrimps with feta and soy sauce mousse, wondering how on earth soy sauce would play with Greek tastes, but it was subtle and perfect. Bread was excellent. Salmon was excellent. The chicken fillet ballotine was rather dry, but that's my only complaint. Wine was good. The ambiance was very nice, and our server was delightful. One of our two best meals during 2 weeks in Greece, and it was better than a Michellin star place in Athens (and much less expensive!) היה ממש מוזר לראות ציון כל כך גבוה על מסעדה בכול כך מרכז העניינים ברודוס, אבל בכול זאת זה היה בין המסעדות הטובות שאכלתי!
המנות היו מדהימות, יפיפיות ומקוריות וממש טעימות. השירות היה מקסים ודאג שיהיה שולחן נוח וגדול לכולם אפילו למסעדה הקטנה שלהם, וזה הדהים אותי כי זה כל כך קל לתת זלזול לתיירים בכמות שלנו (אם מתעלמים מהעובדה שאנחנו היינו ישראלים) למסעדה בכול כך מרכז העיר העתיקה אבל במסעדה זו המלצרים שרים בזמן שהם מגישים את האוכל! המסעדה מעוצבת עם אווירה כדי לתת לך טעם העולם היווני הישן והנעים.
שאנחנו נחזור לרודוס דבר ראשון שנעשה זה לחזור למסעדה זו!

This place is just *chefs kiss”. My partner and I almost broke a plate fighting for the hummus (and we have tried many many hummus in our lifetime, this beats all of them, creamy, with nice spices, just beautiful) and last piece of bread, it was that good. We both had the vegan ravioli and it’s the best meal we’ve had in central Rhodes. 5/5 on service, taste, and speed, highly recommend.
